Its been quite a few months since my last entry and plenty has happened in the city, nay the world. Barack Obama has been elected and now Obama t-shirts of the highest quality are available on markets stalls across london. Issues such as swine flu and the Iranian elections have recently dominated the news, but the biggest concern continues to be the ongoing financial crisis.
The most recent evidence I've observed of this credit crunch is the opening of a 98p shop in the Elephant and Castle shopping centre. Not one pound. Not 99p. But 98p. As the sign says 'Every penny counts', but I can't help but conclude: if you have enough money to lease a shop, you can't be too badly off.

Beginnings

Walking down the Strand last week I saw something which I thought only existed as a stereotype. There was a man; in a suit, smart jacket, briefcase and wearing a bowler hat! This pleased me immensely. The only thing that would have topped it could be if he had an umbrella and a copy of the FT tucked under his arm. Actually, I like to think there was a copy of the FT in the breifcase.

Random events like this and all the wonderful peculiarities of London are what has inspired me to start this blog. Its my insight and experience of the city.
